What happened to the Blest Atheist (blog, that is)?

I got caught by surprise by Google's lack of tech support and trickery in domain registration. I decided that since it was about time that Blest Atheist had a name change, given that it now has been four years since my conversion, the timing was right not to go along with the Google-GoDaddy scheme for moving registration to GoDaddy at nine times the original cost. Others have screamed about being held hostage in order to get their website back. I don't like being held hostage and found a way around that. I could have retained the blog title but not the URL, so it seemed fitting to change both.

I will, over time, move all the BA posts here. There are nearly 300 posts, so that will take some time. Please be patient as I work on it. Unfortunately, I cannot access the comments.

I apologize for any inconvenience that causes or has caused readers and followers of Blest Atheist. I thank all those who have followed Blest Atheist and will contact each individually with this information.

  1. I suppose that's one way to make a change... be forced into it! I hope that the change will prove to be a blessing. Glad I could help a bit in alerting you to the problem.

  6. It's a pleasure to walk with you in the strait way through the narrow gate. Thanks for letting me know about the move. For me, the good thing about moving all your posts is that I'll find some I've missed! I've already changed my link and will be back after my cataract surgery this week.

  8. Karen, glad you like the name. it seems more appropriate to my life now than Blest Atheist, which is quickly becoming something of the past.

Oh, Grammy Blick, good luck on your cataract surgery. I will be praying that it will be as quick and easy as doctors like to advertise!

  14. Hi Elizabeth: I was wondering why I kept getting "Blest Interiors" instead of Blest Atheist...okay I found you now. Love the header, I posted about lambs not too long ago. Watching sheep and lambs is one of my favorite pastimes!

  15. Hi Lori,

Glad you found your way over here. My little saga would have been frustrating, but I gave up frustration for Lent, so it actuality is has been merely time-consuming. It will take some time before I am able to reach previous followers - those I know, anyway, because they follow publicly. Those following through feeds are a different story. I don't know how to let them know. I'll go look at your lamb story!

  16. Hi Elizabeth,

When I first received the error message, I immediately thought that your server was down. I assumed that this was a technical issue that would be resolved shortly. Later on when I found myself at a completely different site, I recognized what had happened.

I did think of contacting you when I initially discovered the problem, but I felt uncomfortable contacting you since you don't know me; I convinced myself that you probably already knew of the problem and would get the matter taken care of.

Thanks for letting me know Elizabeth. I find myself asking just when or if I would have reached out to you to offer assistance. I would ask your forgiveness for walking on the other side of the road.

I think one of the technical issues one faces with web-hosting is the ability to generate reports or tasks that easily answer questions like, list my followers from all sources, and send an alert email notification to those listed followers.

Fortunately for you, 100th Lamb was your ram caught in the thicket. Now that I think about it, I am the fortunate one as well because I am once again linked with a sister in Christ.

    Blessings and peace.

  17. What a kind comment, MTJ. I am very happy that we found each other again. That has not been the case in all instances. I cannot reach followers by feed, and some of the followers whose name (and nothing else) I do know do not have blogs where I can reach them. So, I guess re-connecting with these folks will depend on God's intervention and on whether or not we still need each other. Blessings to you!

  22. Thanks for the following. I'm a New Englander - hard to hold us hostage. (NH motto: "Live free or die" - pretty serious stuff.)

  28. Thanks, Donetta. Sometimes these kinds of frustrations result in something that is good that we would not otherwise have done. Have a blessed Sunday.

  29. I am a new follower from Spiritual Sundays, so this name change is news to me. I really LIKE your new name -100th Lamb. It is beautiful, and reminds me of Jesus leaving the 99 lambs behind to find the little lost lamb. I hope you are blessed at your new site :)
